CEID Family Camp, September 28-29. 2013. 

CEID Family Camp is an opportunity for families with deaf, hard of hearing, or KODA (Kid Of Deaf Adults) children from birth through five years old to experience the outdoors together. It's a one-day recreational camp with the primary goal of providing socialization opportunities for families. An overnight option is available for families who wish to camp on Saturday night.


WHO

Deaf, hard of hearing, and KODA (hearing children with deaf parents) children ages 0-5 and their families. Parents, siblings of any age, and extended family members are all welcome and encouraged to attend. This event is open to children who attend CEID, other early intervention programs in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, other elementary or preschools, or no school program at all. Parents MUST attend with their children and are responsible for supervising their children at all times.


WHAT

A full day of family fun in the outdoors! The schedule includes organized activities, lunch and dinner, and free time to explore the park and play at the beach. Activities will be led by credentialed Teachers of the Deaf and include art, language, motor, and social activities. Participants will have plenty of opportunities for socializing with other families.

Here is the schedule of events:

Saturday

9:00-9:30am: Arrival and registration

9:30-12:00pm: Staff-led family activities, including snack for children

12:00-1:00: Lunch (provided).

1:00-4:00: Free choice activities around the park

                          Naps/Rest time (a nap tent will be available at the Beach View area for children)

                          Swimming

                          Hiking

                          Nature Center

                          Boat rentals (additional fee)

                          Fishing (additional fee and bring your own equipment)

                          Set up tents (overnighters)

4:00-5:00:  Structured activities
5:00-6:00:  Dinner (provided)

6:00:          Campfire activities at campsite

                  Overnight campers set up tents if not done during free time

Sunday

8:00-10:00am: Continental breakfast provided for overnight campers


WHEN

Saturday, September 28, 2013. Activities are scheduled from 9:00am-6:00pm on Saturday. A campsite is available for those who register to stay overnight


WHERE

We will be at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore, CA. Saturday activities will be at the Beach View Picnic Area. Overnight camping will be at the Punta Vaca site. Upon registration confirmation, you will receive a packet in the mail containing detailed directions and forms.


COST

Cost is $15 per person of any age for Saturday camp. This fee includes Saturday morning snack for children, Saturday lunch and dinner for all, and staff-led activities. For families wishing to stay overnight, an additional fee of $5 per person ($20 total per person) covers use of the campsite and Sunday morning breakfast. Some free time acitivites, such as boat rentals, are available for an additional fee. Parking is $5 per car for Saturday only attendees. Overnight campers will receive a free parking pass from the kiosk upon arrival. See FAQ for details.
